Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha, also popularly known as Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a well-known British film and stage actress which gained more attention after she starred in"Doctor Who," (a British science-fiction TV show) show that aired on the BBC channel. Gugu became famous for her character Tish Jones. Tish Jones was the character's sister. Gugu was set to pursue an acting career after viewers fell in love with her jovial personality. She also appeared in other British television and stage productions. Critics are raving about her brilliant performance in the British period drama 'Belle' (2013) and in the romantic drama "Beyond the Lights", (2014). In addition to starring in American films like Tom Hankscomedy "Larry Crowne" and 'Larry Crowne', she has also appeared on TV shows including 'Undercover and Touch'. Gugu Mbatha Raw starred in the play "Nell Gwynn" created by Jessica Swale as an actress who also served as the mistress to King Charles II. Handler was also a correspondent for The Tonight Show. Her breakthrough came in 2006, after she started hosting her own show on E! The show was called Chelsea Handler. The show ran for a total of two seasons. Handler followed this up by doing a show on Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour and within the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all broadcast her stand-up comedy shows. Her name was chosen as the host of The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in the year 2010. In doing so, she was the only female host to be announced after Roseanne.
